May 16th is a very sad day for Local 15 as we have just received news this morning of the passing of Brother Randy Beisenstein.  In Randy's passing, the Local has lost a wonderful Elevator Constructor and Union member, but also a friend, mentor, E-board member, son, brother, father, and husband.  During his time in the trade, Randy brought many apprentices and mechanics under his wing and his ability to mentor and shape those he worked with was not only a challenge but a challenge that he mastered.  Randy possessed a rare gift in his ability to teach our craft to everyone he worked with.

In my entire career, I’ve never heard ANYONE speak ill of Randy, and that speaks volumes for his character and integrity.  Rather, people do, and will continue to, brag about being taught by one of the best Constructors this Local has ever seen.  The admiration for Randy will be there for decades and beyond, and while we feel his absence now, his legacy and memory will live on for years to come.  We need to reflect on how short life can be and live every day like Randy did, because it felt like he never had a worry in the world and always looked at everything with a positive attitude. Randy approached life with the attitude of "we will figure it out" and faced problems with a sense of confidence that seemed endless.

As you scroll through the memories and pictures posted, notice the Point Beer can. If you knew Randy you'd understand. So please raise one last Point Beer for our dear friend.

    THE, Randy Beisenstein
    Rest in Peace my friend.

Mechanics who completed their mechanic’s exam after July 9th, 2022 are, again, reminded that they need to complete their annual continuing education credits if they wish to receive their pay raise in January.
