Mechanics who completed their mechanic’s exam after July 9th, 2022 are, again, reminded that they need to complete their annual continuing education credits.. For these new mechanics, as per our new collective bargaining agreement, there is a yearly requirement to complete an 8-hour online continuing education course. You must complete this course in order to receive your annual pay raise. Making sure you complete these hours every year will be each member’s responsibility. So, make sure you can login to the NEIEP webpage, and make sure you complete these required hours in a timely fashion. Mechanics who fail to complete this course will not receive their pay raise in January, and completing the course after January will not result in retroactive pay increases.
All other mechanics are free to access these classes, and a successful completion of the class comes with 8-hours of mechanics rate pay. That is over $450 for completing a class you do at home, on your own time, and at your own pace. All mechanics are encouraged to seize this opportunity.
" PLEASE know that this does not count for continuing education for your State License."
Questions on how to locate the required course should be directed to the hall.
